Detox "Drug Dilemma" Today
(This is what's really going on today...if you can handle the Truth, that is...read on.)
At present in the U.S. (at least in the Southeastern parts where we "doctor" an ever-increasing number of drug addicts), we have an escalating delimma (and drama) involving today's pandemic of Addiction. The new scam involves today new "detox" drugs for today's (opiate) drug addicts. Where there exists no ability to stop deceit and manipulation, there it will thrive (especially involving the underworld of today) in money-making, life-destroying droves! Hey, the "drug war" is now over, haven't you heard? We lost! We can't even "control" the nation's "controlled substances" now!
Instead of those in need getting help directly from the appropriate, certified, opiate, outpatient treatment offices, it is now apparent the detox drugs (supposedly limited to strict and literal, MD-supervised "detox" use in a mostly outpatient drug treatment setting) [this new drug, by the way, is also a "narcotic" category medication, most don't know today] have now made it to the street (just like all the other opiate "prescription" drugs have been for years, increasingly) in enough quantities to be able to "supply" today's "black market" of street drugs...for even "detox" use...and for anybody else wishing to "buy it on the street" without a prescription. One has to wonder, who is failing to stop this flow of narcotics onto the street...but the answers may surprise you, when revealed, too.
Such, of course, might well have been expected (had we as a nation chosen to "live in reality" long ago instead of this present day "drug fantasy" of "more pills for everyone"...but more on that later) when we have such a screwed up medical system and "controlled substance" monitoring system, as is now in place, especially in regards to the "over-prescribing" (by legitimate certified "providers"?) seen more and more today. Do we have to wonder who the new "dealers" are in today's new "drug trade" anymore, really? Fair warning: It's not all, or many, actual Doctors...and, by current known stats, it's actually more "Nurse Practitioners" and "PA's" who are writing most of today's narcotics to patients in "physician's" offices.] It's an issue that needs correction in our declining society - fast!
But back to the newest "opiate-like" narcotic on the street (and again, Suboxone is a "narcotic"...yes). In many cases today, it is being obtained by another band of revised "drug-seekers," who portray themselves at these "Suboxone Clinics" as addicts in need of treatment...but then, we find a significant number of these manipulative so-called "addicts" (or "addict pretenders" more likely) are sent in "seeking drugs" (just like the "drug-seekers" for Opiates have done for a long time) to those Doctor's Offices where this is prescribed; they now do this in droves so they can go out and sell their new "bucket of drugs" (over-prescribed by clueless "prescribers" who are fooled into thinking they are "helping" treat those "on drugs"...) on the street for less money and to more takers, without any supervision or care, obviously. It's "just the other side of the drug-dealing issue" today: detox drugs!
Adding to this "drug problem," a local constable in our area just told me while visiting at the office this morning, due this increase in (illegitimate "over-prescribing") outlets of the drug Suboxone (to the new brand of "drug-seekers"), "It's now cheaper to get Suboxone off the street than it is in any pharmacy (via prescription)!" So, those in need are going to their street Dealers now (many of whom are orchestrating this second verse of the "drug-seeking" black market drug trade) instead of going to a Doctor's Office, in order to "play the other side of the drug-trade" game - in the detox arena.
Some may say this "transfer" of these detox drugs to the street is a good thing. They say if it gets to the drug addict - cheaper and easier - then that's good, right? Wrong! If those who say this understood how tragic this simple "short cut" transfer of these drugs is, well...it's the lack of knowledge and ability to put that knowledge in place that causes so many of our most tragic problems today, isn't it? These drugs are very dangerous, esp. if taken incorrectly. They are known to have killed when taken incorrectly, and the "drug detox" treatment field is not one that ANY street dealer is capable of handling on his/her own...as if one's "street dealer" would even be attempting to "detox" you appropriately, post "drug deal"! No, it's just another "drug deal," the other side of the "drug deal" coin, in fact, and it's apparently beyond the control of our own government (any branch) to "control" our "controlled substances" being "prescribed" in hoards now all over this drug-ridden country...as purported that they would do, for us. The fact is, you can get anything you want on the street today, and you can get it in a matter of minutes in most places inside the good ole' U.S. of A., too! I know our licensed (in three ways at present) medical office is unable to compete with this new "street source" of detox drugs, and too, the ever-increasing numbers of "over-prescribing" other doctor's offices who write these scheduled drugs to so many in so large a quantity today! Seems the appropriate "control" in these matters today is just a joke, basically - on either side of the drug "coin" we're on! It's a "race to the bottom of the barrel" seems to this one outpatient drug detox treatment office today...what a shame.
Thus, constructs the "dilemma" we're now seeing in today's "drug trade". People are dying due these problems involving so many "drugs" today, by the literal thousands! It's a problem we see head on - on a daily basis, now, for decades - and we feel it is being inappropriately addressed today, quite obviously. It's a matter of "who's in charge today" over these issues, really. Where are the limited but real "controls" that should be involving the areas of: Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, PA's, Patients (known to "seek drugs"), Pharmacies, the DEA, our Medical Boards, and so forth? My gracious! How many have to die of this pandemic before we get serious about "controlling" what is "prescribed," "dispensed" or even "street sold" involving these highly damaging "drugs of abuse"?? Seems anybody today can get, or get into, anything they want with relative ease. Claims of "regulation" are just placations by our government to make it all sound good - for so many just "believe whatever they are told" today, assuredly. Sort of makes the "regulation" portion of all we are just a sham, doesn't it? God help us if we look into any real Crystal Ball on this issue today! I don't think we'd like where it would show our next stage of this "drug game" will go...
