Identification of an "Addict" - begins with what should be a proper "Assessment" - which takes experience & skill to discern "what's really going on here". Don't attempt this alone. It can be the most shocking experience of your entire life!
You can know you're probably dealing with a real "Addiction" if you have a constellation of BEHAVIORS that include the following:
1. Lies - a lot! It becomes almost funny how much the addict will lie. "You can't believe a word they say"...we hear this all the time.
2. Manipulations - involving all those around them. It's like a game. They'd rather manipulate others than eat...literally. It's all about outdoing everybody around them; part of this is a must do because they can't get caught at what they're doing...or they're "busted"!
3. Secrets. Hides things from you. Keeps a "secret life" to only a crowd (sometimes just themselves) that includes those "doing drugs".
4. Distrust. It becomes obvious that the person you're dealing with (who you think could be an "Addict") is "not to be trusted".
5. Theft. They steal things...from anyone!
6. Losses.
7. Broken Relationships.
8. Physical Appearance Declines.
9. Legal Problems.
10. Confusion.
